Oil Paintings

I have always been both textile artist and painter. In recent years I have focused on textile collage but am now returning to painting, seeking a balance between mediums that keeps me fresh and excited in both.
During the last year I have planted a new flower garden and that in particular has been the inspiration for these paintings. There is a real joy in standing in among the plants and painting. I find there is a particular vitality in paintings created in this way which I hope you will find in this gallery of work. These are oil paintings, although I begin with painting an abstract wash of acrylic inks on the board or canvas.
Most are painted on board with a double frame separated with a white mount, giving space for the painting to breath. All the paintings are framed in lime-washed wood.
